Developing a CR strategy for a global business

focusright supported DER Touristik in the development of a customized and pragmatic CR strategy. A benchmark analysis comparing the company with its competitors showed its positioning within the industry. Interviews with senior management helped to identify and prioritize measures and to develop a roadmap.

Establishing a human rights due diligence framework

focusright evaluated dormakaba’s human rights performance, identified relevant gaps and developed a human rights due diligence framework for the company. Internal and external stakeholder consultations lead to the identification of salient human rights issues, as well as to the elaboration of respective measures and an action plan.

Monitoring of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in Germany

focusright is part of the consortium carrying out the monitoring process of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP) on behalf of the German Government until 2020. The objective is to review to what extent companies based in Germany comply with the due diligence requirements enshrined in the German NAP.

Responsible business conduct and strategy development

Based on a gap and SWOT analysis, focusright conducted interviews with senior management and evaluated the current state of Ricola’s existing sustainability management. A roadmap was prepared based on the social, ecological, and economic challenges identified as relevant. focusright provides continuing support in the implementation process with a focus on responsible sourcing.

“Get started” tool for small- and medium-sized tour operators

The “Get started” tool is part of the website of the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism and provides small- and medium-sized tour operators with practical assistance in identifying human rights risks and measures to respect human rights in their operations and along their value chains.

Human rights impact assessment (HRIA) tool for small- and medium-sized tour operators

focusright developed a practice-oriented HRIA tool consisting of step-by-step guidance and supporting documents for small- and medium-sized tour operators. The HRIA tool is integrated in the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism’s website and publicly available.

Human rights impact assessment in Thailand and Myanmar 

On behalf of the Roundtable Human Rights in Tourism, focusright conducted a human rights impact assessment (HRIA) in Thailand and Myanmar in September 2019. focusright worked with Roundtable members to prepare and conduct this exemplary value-chain oriented HRIA and to develop and implement an action plan for follow-up measures.

Training concept for Swiss SMEs on human rights due diligence

On behalf of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), focusright developed and implemented a training program for Swiss SMEs on human rights due diligence in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

Study: Stocktaking of the implementation of the UNGPs by the Federal Council and Swiss companies

As co-author of this study, focusright reviewed and evaluated the progress and challenges in the implementation of the UNGPs in Switzerland through the Swiss National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP) and identified whether there is a need to revise the Swiss NAP.
